Georgia AHEC Preceptor Tax Deduction Program
As was mentioned at the Charlotte NAO conference, the Georgia AHEC Preceptor Tax Deduction Program was passed this year. Denis Kornegay, Program Director at the Georgia Regents University AHEC, is happy to assist anyone wanting to work on this in their own state. Denise can be reached at DKORNEGA@gru.edu or 706-721-8331.
Attached are three documents that may be of use: the bill, the department of revenue tax guide language, and the white paper The Georgia AHEC used with Georgia legislature to support the bill. I look forward to seeing how this develops.
"Tuesdays with Trachtenberg"
We had an excellent discussion last week on the "Tuesdays with Trachtenberg" call. Six AHECers discussed a wide variety of topics including the Fall 2014 Conference for which planning is underway, the joint PDCG and CDCG meeting in Charlotte, and the FY15 and FY16 Federal Funding cycles. Please consider dialing in next week to see where the conversation will take us:
Tuesdays 12:30-1:30 EST: Dial in at 1-424-203-8400, Passcode: 245171#.
Please be sure to check out the NAO website on a regular basis. While the 2014 Charlotte conference piece hasn't yet come down (it will be coming down very soon), the presentations from the conference will be up shortly; we'll send a note out when that occurs.
In the far left-hand box at the bottom of the page is the "Latest News" section. Please be sure to take a look on a regular basis to see what's going on~anything that gets posted to the NAO FaceBook page or Twitter feed will wind up there as well: http://nationalahec.org.
Have a great week!

Coverage 2 Care Webinar
Fran Becker, Executive Director at Na Lei Wili AHEC in Hawaii, heard Dr. Roshell speak at the NAO Conference and said, "Hearing Dr. Roshell explain the background history, both the challenges and the opportunities, gave me a better perspective of the whole project nationally, and helped me realize what was being done at the state level, and eventually how it would impact our local community of consumers (individuals, families, businesses, and providers & their staff)."
